Beller Dance Studio has six different levels of Troupes all under the "Competitive Troupe" heading. Each level has different qualifications and requirements.

General Information

Please register for auditions at the front desk. A $23.00 audition fee must accompany your registration. (A $12.00 audition fee is required for all dancers auditioning for Tap Connection only.) There is no guarantee for placement on the dance troupes. All age requirements are approximate; we reserve the right to make adjustments at our discretion.

Occasionally, your child will have opportunities to perform for community events in addition to the requirements listed below. Participation is not required, but is strongly encouraged. We will try to give you all information in a timely manner.

Troupe members may be required to have a few additional rehearsals during the term to get ready for competitions. Your child may want to compete in more routines than those required.* He/She will have extra rehearsals for those routines, usually on Saturdays. He/She is also welcome to attend more conventions than are required for his/her level.

* Dancers that opt to perform in additional dances may be required to purchase additional costumes.

Pricing

One class at Beller's	$31.00 per month (more for 90 minute classes)
Annual Administrative Fee	$30.00 per dancer
Competition	approximately $25.00 per routine
Large Conventions	approximately $170
Small Conventions	approximately $ 75.00
Costumes	approximately $45.00 per routine

Fundraisers will be available to help offset the dancers' expenses. We will let you know about these throughout the year. You may choose not to participate in them; they are optional.

Mini Stars

The age range for Mini Stars is approx 6-8 years old. The Mini Stars level is an introduction to competition.

Weekly Classes required for the year:
- One Troupe combination class (50-minute lesson)
Competitions required (1):
- One competition in the spring
- One routine in the competition
Costumes (1):
- Minimum one costume*

Beller Tap Connection

"BTC" is for students who wish to pursue competitive tapping only. Dancers 7 years of age and older are welcome to audition. BTC will be divided into two levels following the auditions.

Weekly Classes required for the year:
- One Troupe class
- One Tap class
Competitions required (2):
- Three competitions in the spring
- A minimum of two routines per competition
Conventions required (1):
- One large convention (full weekend)
- More recommended
Costumes (2):
- A minimum of two costumes needed at approximately $45.00 per costume*

Rising Stars

The age range for Rising Stars is approx. 8-12 years old.

Weekly Classes required for the year:
- One Troupe class
- One Ballet class
- One Tap class
- One Jazz class
Competitions required (2):
- Two competitions in the spring
- A minimum of two routines per competition
Conventions required (1):
- One large convention (full weekend)
Costumes (2):
- A minimum of two costumes needed at approximately $45.00 per costume*

Shooting Stars

The Shooting Stars will have a greater level of commitment to the Troupe. Dancers must be 9 years of age or older and have completed at least one year of straight Ballet and one year of straight Jazz. They must be ready to learn Ballet, Jazz and Tap and work on leaps, turns and jumps in their audition.

Weekly Classes required for the year:
- One Troupe class
- Two Ballet classes
- One Tap class
- One Jazz class or Lyrical
Competitions required (3):
- Three competitions in the spring
- A minimum of three dances per competition
Conventions required (2):
- One large convention (full weekend)
- One small convention (half day)
Costumes (3):
- A minimum of three costumes needed at approximately $45.00 per costume.

Satellites and Shining Stars

The Satellites and Shining Stars will have the greatest level of commitment to the Troupe. Dancers must be 11 years of age or older and have completed at least two years of straight Ballet and two years of straight Jazz. They must be ready to learn Ballet, Jazz and Tap and work on leaps, turns and jumps in their audition.

Weekly Classes required for the year:
- One Troupe class
- Two Ballet classes
- One Tap class
- One Jazz class - One elective (Lyrical, Musical Theater, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Tumbling, or Gymnastics)
Competitions required (4):
- Three competitions in the spring.
- A minimum of four routines per competition
Conventions required (2):
- One large convention (full weekend)
- One convention of your choice (small or large)
Costumes (4):
- A minimum of four costumes needed at approximately $45.00 per costume*
